WoW SoD Druid Tank Talents & Runes

A good tank build for Druid Druid is usually based on the Feral Combat tree. However, at level 25, the maximum level in Phase 1 of SoD, only 16 talent points are available. That’s not enough to unlock the really important talents in Feral Combat.

If the incoming damage in the raid is not excessive and maintaining threat is not a problem, this is the best spec for a tank Druid Druid:

Nature's Grasp Nature's Grasp is more interesting in PvP, but Natural Weapons Natural Weapons increases the damage and therefore your threat. As a tank, Furor Furor is also a big help. With this build you can also take on a DPS role by switching to Cat Form.

Tank Druid Raid Consumables

The Phase 2 Pre-BiS List is work-in-progress. How many defensive stats are needed, depends on Gnomeregan itself and is unknown at the moment. In BFD in Phase 1, defensive stats were way less important than it was expected before release. That’s why our current BiS list for Phase 2 is optimized for DPS and threat, not mitigation. If you need more mitigation, replace “of the Tiger” pieces with “of the Bear” and vice versa.

Tank Druid Stat Priority

As a Tank Druid Druid you want to prioritize gear with the following stats:

  • Hit Chance (hit cap is 6% against enemies 2 levels above you, like all bosses in BFD)
  • Strength
  • Stamina
  • Agility
  • Attack Power = Feral Attack Power

    • Everything above the 6% hit chance increase has no additional effect when fighting against bosses in Blackfathom Deeps.
