Webinar to discuss Lahaina health care | News, Sports, Jobs

Two Maui-based physicians will discuss health care efforts in Lahaina in the aftermath of the wildfires during a webinar hosted by the Hawaii Medical Association from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday.

Dr. Elizabeth Ignacio and Dr. Vijak Ayasanonda have been directly involved with Maui recovery efforts since the beginning, according to a news release.

Ignacio is an interventional radiologist as well as board president-elect and chairperson of the Advocacy Committee of the Hawaii Medical Association. Since 2022 she has served on the Hawaii Medical Board.

Ayasanonda is an emergency medicine physician and the deputy director of the state Department of Health on Maui, coordinating west side medical services. He was previously the chief of staff for Maui Memorial Medical Center.

The live webinar is open to the public, and participants will be able to submit questions during the session. It will also be recorded and made available on the Hawaii Medical Association’s YouTube channel.
