It is a slow day at the recently reopened Mala Boat Ramp Wednesday morning. The ramp reopened for recreational uses on Oct. 14 and commercial operations on Oct. 16 after a temporary trailer to house staff was installed and the bathroom and other facilities were cleaned following the August wildfires. The state Department of Land and Natural Resources plans to hold a community meeting at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nov. 1 to discuss recovery and operations at Mala Wharf and the Lahaina Harbor, which remains closed.
